Jay has been at the heart of the South Coast music scene since his very first set back in 1988 – a night he still remembers vividly, spinning records at Bournemouth’s five-star Royal Bath Hotel, paid entirely in casino chips.

Since then, Jay Rachet has become one of the region’s most in-demand DJs, known for his versatile style, vast music knowledge, and ability to fill any dancefloor.

Over the years, Jay has held residencies at countless venues and events, including the iconic Bump ’n’ Hustle nights where his smooth R&B selections became the stuff of local legend. He also hosted one of the UK’s longest-running weekly radio shows on FIRE Radio, championing R&B and club culture for an incredible 17 years.

From clubs to festivals, and from exclusive parties to his long-time role as MC and host at Bournemouth’s celebrated Landmarc Restaurant Theatre, Jay continues to bring his trademark energy, personality and seamless mixing to every crowd.

His appearance at Christchurch Music Festival 2027 sees him playing, hosting and introducing on the Main Stage.. expect good vibes, great music, and a dancefloor full of happy faces.
